A small game demo where you pilot an aircraft while avoiding collisions with obstacles.

It was developed for Lik-Sang's Coders Competition for Gameboy in 2000.

Controls

D-Pad - Navigate options, Control the aircraft

Select - Select options

Start - Start the game

Compatibility

Tested by the author with NO$GMB (with all exceptions on) and a real GameBoy Color.

Credits

  • Bob Koon - Graphics, Programming.
  • Ryan Ross - Music, SFX.
  • Stephane Hockenhull - Audio programming.

Some technical points of interest: The audio driver used was Paragon 5's Beyond Tracker. GDMA was used for the in-game scrolling. The title screen uses all 40 sprites (8x16) for the logo at the top of the screen and (potentially) all 40 sprites (8x8) for the menu items below (the background is scrolling underneath everything).
