RiiPlay, previously known as the RiiPlay Expansion Pack, is a modification pack by JimmyKaz and cyndifusic for the game Wii Play.
It began as just a modification for the minigame Kaizo Tanks, but the creators later discovered the ability to add custom sound effects to minigames that store them in uneditable BRSAR files. As a result, they decided to make changes and additions to every game in the pack.
Features
- Find Mii Randomizer - Load Custom Find Mii levels in the game. Seems normal right? Well... The levels have had their Objectives randomized. And some levels even implement the unused Zooming Feature in them. And some levels have the unused "Find the Insomniac" Objective.
- All Terrian Tanks! - Load custom levels for the Tanks! Minigame. To make things more interesting the tank parameters and textures are edited to snow themed.
- Ultimate Kaizo Challenge - Make every game Kaizo. It works the best on Tanks! Every time you want to update the scene press the plus button on the Wii Remote.
- The Fitness Protection Program - Thought you were the best at Find Mii? Well this mode will determine if that is truly the case! This mode loads a debug feature in Find Mii that makes Find Mii even more challenging.
Installation
What you need:
- Wii Play game disc.
- A SD card.
- A Wii with Homebrew Channel installed.
Before using the patch, check which version of the game you have.
- This pack was designed for Version 1.01 of the game (you can still play this with Version 1.0).
- If you have Version 1.0 then the bottom of the title screen will show "2006 Nintendo".
- If you have Version 1.01 then the title screen will display "2006-2007 Nintendo".
Setting up the pack:
- Unzip the patch and you should see 3 folders. Select all 3 of them and move them to the root of your SD Card.
- If you did everything right, the root of your SD Card should look like this:
- apps/
- riivolution/
- wiiplay/
- If it ever asks you if you want to replace files then choose yes.
Loading The Pack:
- Load the Wii Menu.
- Put your SD Card into your Wii.
- Launch the Homebrew Channel, then run Riivolution.
- Insert your Wii Play Disc, wait about 20 seconds for Riivolution to load.
- Then at the right side of the screen you should see an option that says "Install". Select it then exit the app.
- You should now see the Riivolution channel installed on your Wii menu. Launch it.
- Select the options you want to play with. and then launch the game.
- Very important: If you have Version 1.0 of the game, make sure you always enable the "Force 1.01" patch.
Note: It is recommended that you don't use "Kaizo Everything" mode until you have played each game once and gotten a new high score in each one, as it could corrupt your savedata if you don't.
