d2x cIOS Installer is a tool used to install custom IOS (cIOS) onto a Nintendo Wii. The cIOS allows the Wii to run unofficial software, such as emulators and game backups, and can also improve the performance of some games and homebrew applications.
The d2x cIOS installer is a specific version of the cIOS installer that uses the d2x cIOS, which is a custom IOS that is based on the IOS249. This cIOS is considered to be more stable and compatible than other cIOS. It is important to note that installing a cIOS onto a Wii can potentially void the warranty and may cause damage to the system if not done properly.
The d2x cIOS is an enhanced version of the cIOSX rev21 by Waninkoko. It is currently maintained by davebaol, xabby666 and XFlak.

Known Issues
- Unable to downgrade the revision of an existing (c)IOS with a (c)IOS without the ES Version patch (Hermes's cIOS for example).
- Without AHBPROT and the --ios=XXX argument in the meta.xml file, an USB device will no longer be detected by d2x cIOS installer after an IOS reload.
