Sopwith is a DS port of the sidescrolling shoot'em up Sopwith, which was originally created by David L. Clark of BMB Compuscience in 1984. ==User guide== You begin at your base (typically a hangar and a runway). From here, you must launch your plane and attack targets. This stage can be a hindrance to an inexperienced player, as sufficient speed is needed to get the plane into the air. Insufficient speed will cause the plane to stall and crash. The plane is equipped with a machine gun and a supply of bombs. This weaponry can be used to destroy enemy buildings and shoot down enemy planes. Gauges in the status bar at the bottom of the screen show the remaining lives, fuel, bombs and bullets, respectively. ==Controls== Up/Down - Pull up/down Left - Decelerate Right - Accelerate A - Fire machine gun B - Drop bomb X - Flip plane Y - Return to base R - Fire missile Start - End game ==Screenshots== https://dlhb.gamebrew.org/dshomebrew/sopwith2.png https://dlhb.gamebrew.org/dshomebrew/sopwith3.png <!--BEGIN Online Emulator Section--> ==Online emulator== {{EmulatorJS Main |width=515px |height=384px |EJS_backgroundImage=https://www.gamebrew.org/images/6/61/Sopwith.png |EJS_core=desmume2015 |EJS_gameName=Sopwith |EJS_gameUrl=https://dlhb.gamebrew.org/onlineemulators/nds/sopwith.7z }} {{DS Control Settings}} <!--END Online Emulator Section--> ==Changelog== '''1.7.1''' * NDS Specific code completely re-written. * Screen is no longer scaled from 320x200, sopwith looks MUCH better now running at a native 256x192 resolution. * Added icon for DS Download Play. * Fixed some problems with key input. * Shut off 2nd screen and it's backlight. * Proper timing method is now used. ==External links== * Author's website - http://lazyone.50megs.com/index.html
