It is made in a dedicated homebrew cartridge, using all new parts, and built from the ground up. Two parts have been released so far, in 2014 and 2019. Freebie-GBs is the public demo version accompanying the cartridge release. This second installment Heebie-GBs after the [[Heebie-GBs_2014|2014 edition]] was set to release in 2018, but the cartridge release was delayed for one year because of a software bug that caused music slowdown. The bug was eventually solved and the ROM was released as Heebie-GBs 2019/[[Freebie-GBs 2019]]. The 2019 version is recommended over the 2018 version for a better listening experience, as they're materially identical apart from the bug and including one additional track.
