This project is dedicated to translating the in-game dialogue of Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airu Village DX (モンハン日記 ぽかぽかアイルー村DX) from Japanese to English. This project aims is to make this charming spin-off of the popular Monster Hunter series more accessible to non-Japanese speakers.
Project Overview
Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airu Village DX is a delightful game that offers a unique experience within the Monster Hunter universe. However, the language barrier can prevent non-Japanese speakers from fully enjoying the game. This project seeks to bridge that gap.
Our goal is to provide accurate and contextual translations of all in-game dialogue. We believe that understanding the dialogue can enhance the gaming experience by providing insights into the game's rich lore and character interactions.
Progress & Bugs
The translation V1.0 is 98% fully translated. Due to game engine limitations, the text formatting will sometimes not fit into the respective dialogue boxes.
Formatting the text is about 20% done.
There are still many formatting issues that will be worked on. For now, you can finish the full game in English with no problems. In very rare cases, some NPCs cannot be talked to. This is due to an issue with the translation.
How to Install
- You need to own a copy of the game and extract the .3ds or .CIA file.
- Download the main branch of this repository here.
- Replace the original files with the downloaded translated files.
- Recompile the files back into the .3ds or .CIA file format.
