Super Smash Bros. Legacy XP is a fan modification of Project M 3.6 that includes 10 more fighters, 700+ additional stages, and a number of new modes to the game. Unlike Legacy TE, Legacy XP us meant to be a fun modpack variant of PM 3.6 and not designed to be used in a competitive setting.

Legacy XP Lite is a combination of Legacy XP with some of the more competitive-friendly stages from Legacy TE, greatly reducing the number of stages and the mod size from over 5 GB to under 2 GB. The last available version 2.1 was released in March 2019. Development for both Legacy XP and Legacy TE was ceased in March 2020.

FAQ

Q. What is Smash Bros. Legacy?

We're a group of content creators and modders. Super Smash Bros. Legacy refers to the mods we compile.

Q. Is Smash Bros. Legacy continuing Project M's development?

Absolutely not. We use Project M v3.6 as a base for all of our mods, and aren't intending to continue their work at all.

Q. How big of an SD card do I need to run Legacy XP?

You will need a 8GB SD card or larger.

Q. I could run Legacy 1.3 just fine, why am I having trouble with Legacy XP?

Legacy XP is built on Project M XP as a base, not Legacy 1.3. They're very, very different builds.

Q. Can I run Legacy XP on a different version of Dolphin?

You can, but it runs perfectly fine on our version of Dolphin, which also offers better graphics settings for both high and and low end PCs.

Q. Where are the L-alt costumes from the Legacy XP trailer?

Only some (Link, Toon Link, and ROB) have L-alt costumes. Dr. Mario has PM's Doc moveset as his L-Alt.

Q. Who worked on the Legacy XP project?

You can view the credits here. Thanks to everyone for their hard work.
