Wagic, also named as Wagic, The homebrew!?, is an Heroic Fantasy battle game reproducing the rules of a famous Collectible trading card game on PSP. In Wagic, you fight against an AI with your deck of cards. Each time you win, you earn credits to buy more cards in the shop, and improve your deck.

It was heavily based on the strategy card game Magic the Gathering, orginally created by wololo and had been involved with the development until version 0.18.6, since then it has become an open-sourced community driven project. This game is available on multiple platforms other than PSP: IOS, Linux, Windows, Android, Iphone and Meego (for some Nokia).

This was one of the contest entries for the Neo Spring Coding Compo 2009 (PSP Games, 6th place).

Features

  • Supports more than 20,860 cards.
  • Supports all the features from latest D&D release.
  • Commander Format.
  • AI and 2 Players game mode.
  • Varies game modes, options and setting to customize your deck.

User guide

In Wagic, you play as a wizard against the CPU with your army of minions.

You start the game with a small collection of cards (symbolizing creatures and spells), and as you win battles against the AI, you earn credits that allow you to buy more cards and build more powerful decks.

As you play, you unlock cards and new game modes. Wagic features several thousands of cards in the official release, with extra contents that allows you to customize and also create your own cards and mods.

Main menu:

  • Play - Duel against the AI in various modes or watch a game demonstration.
  • Deck Editor - Create your own decks.
  • Shop - Game store where you can obtain new cards and upgrade your deck.
  • Options - Create profiles and other configurations.
  • Exit - To exit the game.

Game rules:

A detailed Manual for Wagic is available here.

User-created content:

Extra content such as new cards, themes and utilities can be found in the official forum.

Commander Format:

The Commander Format includes Command Zone and Sideboard Zone directly accessible from 2 dedicated buttons on the battlefield (they are on the right side of the Exile Zone button). You will be also able to build his Commander deck from Deck Editor Menu adding a Commander and play with AI in the new game mode following the Commander standard rules.

To unlock the Commander Format mode you have to win a game with 40 life (or more) and with less card in your graveyard than your opponent have (to be faster you can add prx_commander=1 in your options.txt file).

To build a deck you can use the Deck Editor Menu or you can edit the deck txt file adding "#CMD:" tag for your commander card. If you build a Deck with a commander remember that the game will allow in your deck only cards with same identity color of that commander, and, except for the basic lands, the cards cannot be duplicated, just single instances are allowed. Please remember that in Commander Format game only decks with #CMD tag will be allowed for both human and AI players.
