Dsmtools is a suite of tools for converting common video formats such as FLV, AVI, and MPEG into DSM0/1/2 format.
Installation
The entire package contains the following tools:
- Dsmenc.exe - A file conversion software to encode video files to various DSM.
- Dsmenc_extset.exe - When encoded in dsmenc, this is the settings editor to be more specific about the scope and frame rate, etc.
- Dsminfo.exe - A tool that displays detailed information about the DSM file.
- Dsmshow.exe - Tool to check the DSM file to play on Windows.
- Dsmsplit.exe - Tool to separate the audio and video, while decoding the DSM file. Video format files in PNG, Audio file format is WAV.
User guide
Videos can be converted into the following formats:
- DSM0 - This format is not currently being used. It is retained only for compatibility. It can be played in DSMPlayVer0.2.
- DSM1 - A format that seek a high frame rate. It is encoded at a frame rate of more than 25fps. 1GByte may be more than 30 minutes. It can be played in DSMPlay Ver0.5 or above.
- DSM2 - A format and it will be encoded in frame rate 25fps. It can be played in DSMPlay Ver0.7 or above.
