This is a fan translation project for Fire Emblem If. This patch contains all three story paths (Hoshido, Nohr, and Invisible Kingdom), all Skinship lines, most of the NPC dialogue, and a good portion of the character support conversations.

Fire Emblem If did receive an official English localization and was released under the title Fire Emblem Fates. However, on its way across the ocean, several features present in the original release were altered or missing. Many parts of the game's story and dialogue were re-written to tone down some of its more mature themes, and certain features present in the original release, such as the Skinship minigame, were cut entirely.

The goal of the patch aims to allow western gamers to enjoy the game as it was originally intended, with everything from the Japanese release intact.

Features

All story chapters (Hoshido, Nohr, Invisible Kingdom) at 100%.
Skinship lines for every character at 100%.
First-generation supports (excluding children) by gender:
- Female/female supports at 100%.
- Male/male supports at 100%.
- Male/female supports at 60%.
Second-generation supports at ~15%.
My Castle and misc. lines at 45%.

Installation

Requirements

You'll need the following things:

The latest patch downloaded from the Release page.
A 3DS with updated Custom Firmware installed.
Backup of your game and DLC (decrypted CIA), see tutorial by Team if.
A PC with a micro SD card reader.

Using the Provided Patcher

Copy the CIA folders to a secure location on your PC, preferably close to the downloaded translation patch files.

Open IfPatcher and direct the Patch Folder to the downloaded patch. Make sure that the chosen folder contains the exe, rom, and dlc folders. There are two tabs below: Game and DLC. Select the tab corresponding to the content you want to patch.

If patching a game, switch to the Game tab, select the game CIA file, and click "Apply Patch." The status will be displayed in the large box, with a progress bar tracking the patching process. If the process completes without errors, your game is successfully patched.

For patching DLC, follow a similar process with an additional step. On the DLC tab, choose the DLC CIA file and click "Unpack." After a few seconds, a list of the game's DLC will appear in the left box.

Most DLC won't have a patch available. For those that do, use the checkboxes under their names to include them in the patching process. Click "Apply Patch" when ready and wait for the process to finish.

After patching, copy the patched CIA files back to your SD card. It's recommended to have a folder named "cias" on the card's root directory. Reinstall the CIAs onto your 3DS.

Begins the conversion of Hoshido to Byakuya, and Nohr to Anya. Note that this conversion is in-progress and not complete! Some areas will use the new names, and some areas will use the old names. We're making this change to present a script more accurate to the Japanese version.
Also included are 55 new supports. For more information on which supports are now included, see the Serenes Forest thread post.
Please keep in mind that we are a much, much smaller group than we used to be, and updates will be slow but consistent. If there are any issues or questions, please open an Issue from the Issues tab.
