GC to VPAD is a Wii U patcher designed to replace GamePad input with the GameCube adapter.
Note: Superseded by HID to VPAD which supports a range of devices.
User guide
How to setup:
- Requires a Wii U capable of running the browser and kernel exploit.
- Copy the contents of the "htmls" folder into a new folder on your webserver.
- Run OSDriver for kernel access, start GC to VPAD, launch a game, and enjoy.
The functionality is mostly intuitive, with the following exceptions:
- GamePad L - GameCube holding down Z.
- GamePad R - GameCube R.
- GamePad Minus - GameCube Start.
Notes:
- This patch only affects VPADRead, so not every game is supported.
- The internal sharing of memory might break newer Wii U games like Splatoon.
- The gamepad must remain on at all times, as screen savers and console shutdowns may occur since the GameCube inputs aren't officially detected by the system. To avoid issues, disable burn-in reduction and auto shutdown in your Wii U settings.
